Social Science

This comprehensive Social Studies course introduces learners to the fascinating world of human connections, community life, and global diversity. The curriculum is designed to help children understand the foundational elements of society—how people live, work, and come together to form communities. Students begin by exploring their own local surroundings, learning about the people who help a community function—such as leaders, teachers, shopkeepers, doctors, and firefighters.

As the course progresses, learners explore different types of communities—urban, suburban, and rural—through stories, maps, photos, and role-play. They begin to understand how geography, environment, and culture shape the way people live. Geography is introduced through hands-on map activities where students locate continents, oceans, countries, and landmarks. They use symbols and keys, learn about directions, and start to grasp the importance of geographic features like rivers, mountains, and borders.

Students also explore the concept of citizenship and civic responsibility. They learn why we have rules and laws, how communities solve problems, and how people can participate in making decisions. Key historical figures and national symbols are introduced to help students develop a sense of history and belonging. By learning about holidays, customs, foods, clothing, and traditions from cultures around the world, students gain respect for diversity and begin to understand the value of global citizenship.

The course is designed to develop critical thinking, empathy, and collaboration. With engaging activities such as community mapping, story-based history lessons, and cultural celebration projects, students grow into thoughtful, informed, and compassionate members of society.
